Europe Transport Manager for Spare Parts Distribution
CNH (Case New Holland) is a world leader in the manufacture and distribution of agricultural and construction equipment. Company is part of the Fiat Industrial Group and has a global network of 11,300 dealers in 170 countries.
I held the position of Transport Manager Europe for the distribution of spare parts located in Le Plessis Belleville before this department was transferred to Turin in Italy. The distribution of parts and accessories to dealers is carried out from 5 central depots based in France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain and Spain.
As part of my duties, in addition to the day to day activity of Department managing, I was able to make a number of strategic improvements. I started by finalizing the reorganization of the inter-site transports after the reorganization of the installation of the master depots: review of the numbers of the shuttles, their dimensioning and their schedules of departure.
I then set up the night delivery to the dealers. This service allows them to have some parts ordered the day before the opening of their workshops to optimize their working days.
For the harvest period, I set up a spare parts delivery service on Saturday and Sunday at some key dealers. The others coming to provide themselves to them in case of necessity. This service is very popular with farmers who do not stop working all weekend at this time of the critical year of their activity.
To better control quality of transport services, I developed and implemented a track and trace tool with carriers to map the quality of their service daily.
Finally, I built a tool, which based on tariff rules contracted with carriers and volumes shipped, can anticipate the billing of each carrier on its various services. This makes it possible both to better manage the cash flow, to facilitate the control of the invoices as well as to detect possible anomalies of invoicing.
