Consultant for Renault Spare Parts and Accessories Logistics Department
The Renault Parts and Accessories Logistics Division has 3 central stores, including one in Eragny Sur Oise. On this site are stored 85 000 references including many small dimensions (mechanical parts, accessories). These parts are delivered to 31 stores across the globe, including 15 in Europe. On this site, I managed different projects as an Altran consultant.
The first of these was to work on the optimization of storage and order preparation on an area with very high density of small parts. In addition to the organizational aspect that I worked in collaboration with the teams in charge of this area, I designed and followed, from the specifications to the production, through the monitoring of development and tests, adaptations of the information system necessary to achieve this new operation.
I then leaned towards improving the stock levels of aging parts. The supply of spare parts for 10 years imposed on the car manufacturers requires a management of the obsolescence of stocks. The financial impact is important because a bad management of these stocks is irremediably translated by an increase of the storage costs.
Finally, as part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance for the English subsidiary, I was in 2001 responsible for supporting the move of the English Renault store located in Swindon to the extension built for this purpose of the Nissan store of Lutterworth. The scope of the project consisted of developing IT tools to ensure continuity of service during the moving of the parts and to adapt the order picking algorithms after benchmark of Renault and Nissan preparation methods. I was there to advise and support the teams during all operations.
